Description The intent of this course is to provide students with the opportunity to acquire basic knowledge and skill in the practice of architecture and to familiarize with professional working environment. This would also provide insights into the duties and responsibilities of a practicing architect. The focus areas will include: Project and Office Management, Design and Design Documentation, Construction Documentation and Contract Administration. The student will work under the direct supervision of an experienced and registered architect (Full member of IAB) of the host firm or an office. Concerned teachers of that course will monitor progress and advice on relevant issues. Students will be required to complete a detailed Professional Training Record Log book for tasks undertaken at the office. At the end of the training period, student will submit the completed and duly signed Professional Training Record Log Book and the Portfolio of their jobs done in the office/firm during training period for evaluation in an oral examination where the student will be expected to demonstrate adequate professional knowledge. The duration of training will be of 8 weeks (320 working hours); which will commence after the termination of regular Class and to be completed within the given Term time. Students will not be allowed to register in any theory course along with this course in a specific term.
