Prof Mowla is a recipient of ICCR; ADP-JSPS; Commonwealth and SIDA scholarship. He was a visiting Professor to Kyushu University, Japan and KULeuven, Belgium. Fellow IAB (FIAB) and Member American Association of Geographers: Landscape (AAG). He was an invited speaker at ARCASIA (Lahore-Pakistan); IEP (Karachi-Pakistan); SAARC-DMC (Hyderabad & Roorkee- India); KU-Japan; KULeuven-Belgium; SUST and RUET international meets. Teaches at UG, Master’s and Doctoral Programs and supervises all level of thesis and research. Conducted several funded researches.

Former Head, Department of Architecture, BUET, Prof Mowla, had been in Khulna University (KU) as the Dean, Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology; founding Head, Architecture Discipline and the Director of Students Affairs. He was the Engineering Advisor to the KU Vice Chancellor.

Dr. Mowla has over 170 publications in refereed journals/proceedings. He has contributed chapters in Twelve books and co-authored three books. Prof Mowla has been a Curriculum Consultant to over a dozen architectural UG and PG degree programs in the country.

Prof Mowla is affiliated to all the Architecture Programs of public universities in Bangladesh. He was the Founding Editor, KU Studies; Member, Board of Editors, IJEPM, of Public Science Framework (PSF), USA; Elsevier’s journal Frontiers of Architectural Research (FOAR) and Dy Chief Editor Creative Space, Chitkara University Publication, India. Prof Mowla has received a number of Awards and has won design competitions. In recognition of his contribution in Science and Technology, he is appointed a BoG Member, Bangabandhu Novo theatre by GoB, for consecutive four 3-years’ terms, since 2011.
