Fatema Tasmia graduated in September 2015 from the Department of Architecture, BUET and joined as a lecturer in the same department in April 2016, currently she is working as an Assistant Professor. She recently has completed her M.Arch thesis from this department, under the division of History, Theory and Criticism; in a topic related to the History of Tropical Modernism in Bangladesh. She has been awarded with the prestigious ‘Vrooman Memorial Scholarship Award’ in the postgraduate level. She conducts design studios in various level-terms and teaches theories related to Art and Architectural History. She is currently working as the member secretary of the Board of Undergraduate Studies (BUGS), DoA-BUET. Her interest lies in the field of the History of Tropical Architecture and Tropical Modernism in Post-Colonial South Asia, History of Modern Architecture and Visual Narrative.
