BOOK LAUNCHING CEREMONY OF FIFTY YEARS OF ARCHITECTURE IN BANGLADESH 2022-05-28T12:02:57+06:00

The publication ceremony of the book Fifty Years of Architecture in Bangladesh, published by The University Press Limited has been held on March 11, 2022, Friday afternoon at the premises of The Department of Architecture, Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET).
This book is published as part of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Department of Architecture. This book is primarily a compilation of 50 significant architectural works of Bangladesh between 1962-2012.
At the publication ceremony, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of BUET Professor Satya Prashad Majumder, Ph.D. was present as the Chief Guest. Renowned architect and veteran academician Professor Shamsul Wares and prominent critic, writer and a former professor at Dhaka University, Professor Syed Manzoorul Islam made the ceremony more momentous as Special Guest.
Ar. Mubassar Hussain, the President of IAB; Ar. Md. Ishtiaque Zahir, the President of ArcAAB, Professor Shayer Ghafur, Ph.D., Department of Architecture, BUET also joined the ceremony as esteemed panelists.
Professor Zebun Nasreen Ahmed, Ph.D., Department of Architecture delivered the welcome address, and the keynote address was delivered by the editors of the book Professor Nasreen Hossain, Ph.D., and Mahmudul Anwar Riyaad, Department of Architecture, BUET. Ms. Mahrukh Mohiuddin, Managing Director of The University Press Limited shared Publisher’s Reflections at the launching ceremony.
The book has been unwrapped in the presence of the invited guests. After Unveiling the Book Prof. Shayer Ghafur, Head, Department of Architecture, BUET and the chief guest Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Satya Prashad Majumder gave their valuable speech. The program was ended by the Convener of the program Prof. Nasreen Hossain’s vote of thanks.
