Pankaj Nath Joy, Tanzim Rochana, Shehran Parvez Seyan, Sangeeta Bhattachargi, Sarah Shehnaz Bipasha, Mahua Chakma, students of
Batch 12, from the Department of Architecture has won an Honourable mention at the Symposium DRIA 2017 held at NUS Singapore on 16th
to18th August 2017. The theme was about designing resilience in a given site in Semarang,Indonesia. They worked on a concept of “Soakable
Society” where they proposed to provide oppurtunities for socio economic resiliency through minimal architectural interventions making
the society self-suicient to address their upcoming problems. Studio Tutors for the project were Dr Shahidul Amin, Dr. Farida Nilufar, Dr.
Nasreen Hossain, Ruhul Amin and Dr. Nayma Khan.
