We are pleased to announce that BUET Design Team’s entry entitled “Agro.ing City” has won the award in “Community and Socially Resilient Design” in the Designing Resilience in Asia (DRIA) 2020/21, an International Student Competition and Symposium. The team consists of Sadrila Abbasi, Rakesh Sharma, Fahmidur Rahman, Maisha Labiba Nahian, and Afra Anan Saba of Level- 5, Term- 1 (’15 batch). The proposal was also being awarded the honorable mention in the other two categories of “Best Regenerative and Mitigation Design” and “Best Resilient Building Technology Design.” The esteemed jury praised the proposal’s holistic approach to resilience design, contextual, multiscalar, and community-driven.
The project started in 2020 having Dr Catherine Daisy Gomes as the DRIA Tutor along with Ar Mahmudul Anwar Riyaad, Dr Nayma Khan, Ar. Md Ruhul Amin, Ar Simita Roy, and Ar Gourab Kundo as the Studio Tutors and was extended to 2021 because of the Covid 19 situation where Ar Simita Roy guided the teams as DRIA 2021 Tutor.
